We would like to inform you that due to the new tax law in THE FINANCE ACT 2023 on Digital Content Monetisation income enacted by the Kenyan government, which stipulates that every live streaming practitioners are subject to 5% withholding tax and this will be taking effect within the app from this month. For more details, please refer to the THE FINANCE ACT 2023 Part 2 Income tax; Point 2 Clause (b) and Point 26 Clause (m) below.

*What if I don’t provide PIN?
- It is very important that each host provides their KRA pin so that the finance is able to credit the 5% deduction as required by government to your personal account. If you don’t provide KRA PIN, we can only credit it in the name of the company.
*When will the tax be effective?
-The tax law officially takes full effect from the 8th of August, and we will not add tax to withdrawals made before 8 August if tax has not been deducted.
