REDMI NOTE 12 SERIES MAKES ITS DEBUT

Redmi held a launch event today in China where they unveiled the much awaited Redmi Note 12 Series. The series is made of the base model Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, Pro+ and Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition. And a special edition of Note 12 Pro+ dubbed Redmi Note 12 Yibo Edition.
The series looks similar in specification but there are some details that set them apart.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro series features a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels (FHD+), a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, a 1920Hz PWM dimming, and a 16,000 level dimming. The 20:9 panel supports a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 10-bit color depth, 900 nits peak brightness level, HDR10+, HDR10, and Dolby Vision.
Powering all the three models is MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. The Note 12 Pro+ and the Note 12 Explorer Edition feature a 3,000mm² VC cooling system, while the base Note 12 Pro packs a smaller 2,000mm² graphene-based cooling system. For interface, the devices come pre-installed with MIUI 13 based on Google's Android 12 OS.
For photography, the Note 12 Pro rear panel offers a triple camera set-up that features a 50MP main sensor accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP macro camera. The Note 12 Pro+ and Note 12 Explorer Edition on the other hand come with a 200MP main camera accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP macro camera. With all the models front sporting a 16MP sensor for selfie and video recording.
The Note 12 Pro and Pro+ are powered by a 5,000mAh battery capacity with support for a 67W, 120W wired fast charging respectively, whereas the Explorer Edition utilises a 4,300mAh battery capacity with support for a massive 210W wired fast charging.
The devices comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IR blaster, an x-axis linear vibration motor, dual stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm. For connectivity, they feature a dual SIM slot, 5G, WiFi 6, GNSS, NFC, and USB Type-C.
Price
The Redmi Note 12 Pro will retail for 1,699 yuan for the base 6GB/128GB while the 8GB/128GB will go for 1,799 yuan, the 8GB/256GB storage will retail for 1,999 yuan and the high-end 12GB/256GB goes for 2,199 yuan. And it comes in Black, White, Blue, and Violet colour options.
The Note 12 Pro+ with 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256 storage option will retail for 2,199 yuan, and 2,399 yuan respectively, while dawning Black, White and Blue colour options.
The Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition and Redmi Note 12 Yibo Edition with 8GB/256GB internal storage will be available for 2,399 yuan and 2,599 yuan respectively.
Redmi has yet to reveal when the devices will be available for global markets.
