August has been generous to Hip Hop
fans as some of the biggest names in the top genre released a project or lent their vocals on the projects released. Here are some of projects you should have in your music library;
1) The Forever Story by JID
JID recently released his third studio album titled The Forever Story with features from 21 Savage, Ari Lennox, Lil Wayne and Kenny Mason
“The Forever Story” is an excellent project from JID that recounts his origins while moving his artistry forward into a new dimension.
His effort to improve his singing paid off, adding diverse textures throughout the album.
JID’s storytelling, lyricism, wordplay and production are all at their peak throughout “The Forever Story,” an essential release in a year filled with strong albums.

2) GOD DID by DJ Khaled
DJ Khaled released his 13th studio album, God Did, which featured star studded guest appearances across the 18 tracks.
Drake kicks things off on the intro “No Secret,” and later joins Lil Baby on the Bee Gees-sampled single “Staying Alive.”
Over a decade after manifesting his Eminem collaboration, it finally comes to life on the Dr. Dre-produced remix of “Use This Gospel,” which also features Kanye West.
Travis Scott and Don Toliver link up on “Let’s Pray,” while “Beautiful” features Future and SZA. Other guests include Roddy Ricch, Lil Durk, 21 Savage, Quavo, Takeoff, Jadakiss, Latto, City Girls, and the late Juice WRLD.

3) Beautiful Mind by Rodwave
Rodwave blessed his fans with his fourth studio album Beautiful Mind which features guest appearances from Jack Harlow and December Joy. The album was preceded by four singles: "By Your Side", "Cold December", "Stone Rolling", and "Alone".
The album was well received by his dedicated fanbase debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 115,000 album-equivalent units.
On the album Rodwave focuses in themes of bad memories, getting money, navigating haters and reminiscing on lost love deploying his piano driven melodies to drive home the message.

4) She/ Her/ Black bitch by Doechii
Doechii released her first major label project titled she / her / black bitch which is inspired by reclaiming power from a name that was meant to be an insult;
“Many times I’ve been referred to as a ‘bitch’ as a way to gaslight me out of certain spaces, something I think many people can relate to in one way or another,” Doechii said in a statement. “Lots of people will call you various names for doing something differently.”
The five track EP features collaborations from SZA, Rico Nasty, and Jst Ray. On the EP Doechii’s versatility and talent is on full display setting her apart from her peers as she switches effortlessly between feisty, fiery and bubbly flows leaving listeners yearning for more
The viral Titkotk hit “Persuasive” receives a SZA remix on the EP adding to it’s appeal and catchiness contending it for 2022’s song of the summer. Stream the EP below.

5) Drillmatic by The Game
Seasoned rapper The Game released his eleventh studio album titled ‘ Drillmatic -Heart vs Mind’ on August 12, 2022.
The album features collaborations from Drake, Ice-T, Fivio Foreign, Roddy Ricch, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, YG, Ty Dolla Sign, Moneybagg Yo, ASAP Rocky, Jeremih, Pusha T, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Meek Mill, Dreezy, G Herbo, Blxst, French Montana, Tory Lanez, Rick Ross, Nipsey Hussle, Chris Brown, Blueface, Twista, Cam'ron, Chlöe, Cassie, and DJ Khaled across its other 30 tracks.
The album doubles down on The Game’s boldness and confidence in being the best rapper alive sending shots at Eminem on the album track "The Black Slim Shady" which is a 10-minute diss track.
The 1 hour 52 minute playtime might be tiring to many but in between there’s some commendable storytelling and bars.
