SAMSUNG UNVEILS GALAXY Z FLIP 4

Samsung held an Unpacked event today (August 10th) where they unveiled the much awaited Galaxy Z Flip 4 alongside Z Fold 4 and Watch 5 series. The device offers minimal upgrade over its predecessor.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 features a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display which supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate (that's the refresh rate can goes from 1 to 120Hz). When folded, the device also features a 1.9-inch AMOLED display for the rear, which is useful for checking out notification, taking pictures, and other at-a-glance information.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 fabbed on 4nm mode, the chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM, 128GB/256GB and 512GB internal storage options. For interface, the device comes pre-installed with Samsung One UI 4.1.1 based on Android 12 OS.

Just like the Fold 4, Samsung also includes the device with Flex Mode, which makes the device folded in a minimal laptop-like position. This activates the camera for video calling in apps that support the mode. For Apps that's yet to support this mode, the lower half of the display turns into a touch pad (which you can use to scroll and navigate in an apps just like on a laptop or computer devices).

For photography, the device rear offer a dual camera set-up which consists of a 12MP main sensor which support OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) paired with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. The front utilise a 10MP sensor for selfie and video recording.

Powering the device is 3700mAh battery capacity that supports 25W wired fast charging and also supports reverse wireless charging.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be available for a retail price of $999 the base 8GB/128GB, Samsung has yet to reveal the price tag for 256GB and 512GB storage options. You can grab the device in Graphite, Pink Gold, Bora Purple and Blue colour options. There will be a Bespoke Edition whereby you can configure the colour to match your preference on Samsung website.
