New Music Friday is the gift that keeps on giving and this week I was mostly excited to hear from Cardi but here are some of the other artists that dropped heat; (starting with my favorite)
Hot Shit by Cardi B ft Lil Durk and Kanye West
Cardi B releases her first single in a year and she ropes in Kanye West and Lil Durk on the Tay Keith produced titled Hot Shit.
Cardi B has been able to maintain her relevancy through big singles like ‘WAP‘ and ‘Up‘ which both topped the Billboard Charts as she focuses on creating her sophomore album which is long overdue.
Hot Shit is a potential summer anthem with the thumping 808s and aggressive bars from the three collaboraters that churns out ones inner rager.
Cardi revealed to Apple Music Zane Lowe how the collaboration came to be saying, “Kanye gave me this verse a couple of months ago, It’s enjoyable in the clubs that you could be like, “Yeah, yeah. You talk your big cash.” I really love it.
And I’m so happy that he gave me this verse. And I had a lot of conversations with Kanye west. I learned so much about him and he’s such an amazing, sweet person.”
She also added that adding Lil Durk was the label’s idea in which Lil Durk submitted his verse in lesss than a day after being approached and she oved it right away. ‘’He just for that young energy to the record.”
Cardi B added that right after ‘Hot H*t’, she has another single coming which sounds different than the first one. She will then start to put the album together. Stream the new song below.

New Money by Calvin Harris and 21 Savage
Calvin Harris teams up with 21 Savage on the second single titled New Money from his forthcoming album Funkwav bounces vol 2 to be released on August 5th 2022.
Shortly before announcing “New Money,” Harris revealed Vol. 2’s star studded list of guest stars in which 21 Savage will be joined by Pusha-T, Lil Durk, Pharrell, Latto, Busta Rhymes, Normani, and more. Though he is yet to unveil the project’s tracklist, Harris blessed his fans with a summer anthem in ‘’Potion” featuring Dua Lip and Young Thug, which arrived about a month ago.
New Money has a groovy piano melody in which 21 savage skates on with so much ease and skill, shoutout to 21 for his versatility.

City Girls
The City Girls have released their second single of the year titled Good Love teaming up with the King of RnB, Usher on the feel good summer anthem.
The release follows their 2022 top notch collab with fivio foreign and 2021 tracks “Twerkulator” and “Scared”
On “Good Love,” City Girls and Usher join forces to devour the bouncy electro beat, with Usher laying his refreshing vocals on the chorus, Yung Miami and JT taking turns on the verses with buttery flows. This was an unexpected collab that we never knew we needed. Cudos to the team, radio about to eat this one up.

Joey Badass
Joey Bada$$’ new album 2000 which was was set for release on June 17TH got delayed due to some ‘sample clearance issues’ according to joey but others speculate he was scared of being overshadowed by Drake’s surprise release which took over social media and streaming platfroms.
Joey has however released a new single titled Where I Belong where he reaffirms his positon in hip-hop reminiscing on his meteoric rise in the game and reminding us all that he’s accomplished. The song is an ode to early 2000s hiphop which will be the theme of his third studio album which Joey confirms that 2000 will arrive on July 22.
