Top Hip Hop Releases This Week

This Friday was very bountiful with releases from our favorite rappers including Lil Nas X, Eminem, Roddy Ricch among others. Here are some of my favorite songs/ projects released this week ending 26th June 2022.
The Big 3 by Roddy Ricch
Roddy Ricch has released his new EP titled The Big 3. The EP is composed of three singles; “Real Talk,” “Tootsies,” and “No Mop” which serve as a follow up to his sophomore album Live Life Fast.
“Real Talk” is a solid introduction to the EP with it’s twangy trap production from DJ Mustard on top of Roddy’s lyricism touching on loyalty & brotherhood, but the penultimate track “Tootsie’s” has to easily be my least favorite of the 3 with it’s nondescript instrumental & bland braggadocio. I do however find “No Mop” to be a sensual conclusion from the misty trap beat from London on da Track to Roddy’s raunchy pen-game.

Lil Nas X and NBA Youngboy Late To Da Party
After teasing several snippets of the song across social media, Lil Nas X has released his latest single, “Late to Da Party,” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
Produced by long time collaborater, takeadaytrip, the song has a bouncy head bopping beat in which Lil Nas X and NBA Youngboy both skate on effortlessly. Lil Nas X takes shots at BET Awards on the song with the lyrics “Fuck BET,” cursing out the network for snubbing him in their nominations this year.
The BET Awards are happening this Sunday, just two days after he releases the track.
BET responded to Lil Nas X’s comments by stating that no one from the network is on the voting academy for the awards show, and they support the “Industry Baby” singer.
While Lil Nas has not directly commented on BET statement, he has continued to make fun of the network and found his own way of celebrating his music by creating more of it.

From the D 2 The LBC by Eminem and Snoop Dogg
Eminem and Snoop Dogg surprised fans with their new collaboration “From the D 2 the LBC’’ this Friday.
The track sees the rappers put on a rapidfire delivery, spitting at a breakneck pace on their respective verses. Upon sharing the song on Twitter, Em added, “Took too long to reconnect with @snoopdogg – you know we had to make a movie!”
The single follows their iconic Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show. They were joined together by Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent.

Run by YG , Tyga, 21 Savage and BIA
Yg is back with another collaboration which is preceded by the single Scared Money with J Cole and Moneybagg Yo, with him teaming up with BIA, 21 Savage and Tyga this round on his second single titled Run.
Both singles are supposedly laying the groundwork for his upcoming sixth studio album which is a promising body of work.

Dababy and Davido Showing off her body
DaBaby has linked up with Davido for their new track “Showing Off Her Body,” which they’ve shared alongside a video shot in Lagos Nigeria.
The track sees Dababy adopt a dancehall-inspired flow as he lays a melodic vocal performance on the song’s chorus blending seamlessly with Davido who was a perfect addition on this track. Showing off her body is perfect for the summer giving all the Caribbean feels needed to step out and have a good time.
DaBaby has been consistent with his music releases despite of his never ending controversies that have put a dent in his career losing many fans along the way and mainstream support.
