INTERVIEW: KB talks new album, future plan and more！

Stream the new album: Family Reunion

Zambian producer, songwriter and artist KB just released his latest album "Family Reunion". It is the second fully packed album he released in 2022 after the huge success of "Love&Heart Break".

The new album is now trending on Boomplay and generated 100K plays within 14 hours. It is a great pleasure for Afrotunes to be the distributor of this project, hereby we had the chance to interview KB and share more stories behind the new album and himself.

What is the new album about and what message do you want to deliver?

KB: The album is about Family, Love and good vibes. I named it Family Reunion because of track number 1 "Nothing Over Family". This song reunites the original members of K amy. Artists that I first signed when I started my Record label back in 2007.

It's going to be a mini-series because there are over 15 artists. So there will be a part 2, 3 and 4 to have everyone re-unite.

Then the rest of the album consists of love songs and heartbreak songs, my usual signature. The album also has Diary 12, arguably the most followed series in Zambian music. Because of the success of Ordinary Lover, I decided to add the acoustic version. It's a fully packaged album.

How do you feel about the huge success of Love&Heart Break?

KB: Love and Heart break exceeded my expectations and has continued to do very well. I have responses from different parts of Africa like Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda to mention a few. That for me was real growth. It's an album for all seasons so my people should continue streaming it.

What is your biggest music inspiration?

KB: My biggest music inspiration is always learning from everyone, that has also helped me stay consistent for this long. I tried to learn a lot from the younger singers and producers. Everyday for me is a learning experience.

Name some artists you wanna collaborate with.

KB: I will love to make music for Nas my all-time favourite artist. Generally, I would love to work with Ruger, Fire Boy, Diabate Sidiki and Joe Thomas.

What's the next step after releasing the new album?

KB: My plan is to promote the new album and shoot at least 2 more videos for the album and get back to working on new material. No resting.
