Manchester City will move onto other key transfer targets after completing the signing of Haaland

Even after capturing one of the world's most prolific strikers, Pep Guardiola's relentless pursuit of perfection means Manchester City need to strengthen the squad even further this summer. As supporters revel in Erling Haaland's signature, City officials will have already moved on to other transfer targets.
A clinical number nine was priority number one, but boosting other areas of the squad will be crucial in ensuring the team is able to compete on all four fronts next season. So, as usual, everyone is asking the same question - who should be next?
In the midst of the Premier League final day chaos, the Etihad faithful bid a fond farewell to club captain Fernandinho after over eight years of stellar service. His leadership, presence and all-around ability will be sorely missed, but City must look at a way of replacing him.
Rodri has performed to an elite level over the last 12 months and is firmly Pep Guardiola's first choice at number six, but with the amount of games City play, he'll need a rest every now and again. Plus, another quality option in that area keeps competition for places very hot.
The obvious name on everybody's lips right now is Leeds United midfielder, Kalvin Phillips. The so-called 'Yorkshire Pirlo' has really impressed fans and pundits alike since the Whites were promoted to the Premier League and is even a regular in Gareth Southgate's England squad.
His versatility and excellent passing ability will impress Guardiola and there's no surprise that he's been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium. With Leeds surviving the drop on the final day, however, they have a lot more bargaining power when it comes to a transfer fee.
