Huawei Mate Xs 2 Makes its Global Debuts

Huawei hold a launch event today in China where they unveiled some of their latest device. One of the device launched is the Huawei Mate Xs 2 foldable smartphone which was launched for the Chinese market last month.
The Huawei Mate Xs 2 has an outward folding “Falcon Wing” design unlike other foldable smartphone. While folded, the display stays in place firmly in place using a latch mechanism and when released, it opens partway thanks to the spring-loaded hinge. Because of the outward folding display, the Mate Xs 2 also boasts a creaseless display which is a rarity in the folding smartphone segment.
The device features a 6.5-inches folded screen which expands to 7.8-inches when unfolded. It has an OLED panel with 2480 x 2200 pixels resolution when expanded (2480 × 1176 pixels while folded). The display panel comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 240 Hz touch sampling rate, 1440 Hz PWM dimming, and 424ppi pixel density.
Huawei Mate Xs 2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset with support for 4G connectivity, with the Adreno 660 GPU on board. It comes in a single storage configuration of 8/512GB, and the internal storage can be increase up to 256GB with Huawei’s Nano Memory Card.
For interface, the device come pre-installed with EMUI 12 and brings special features to the foldable device like smart multi-window and quick-swipe gestures to utilize the larger screen more efficiently and effectively.
The Mate Xs 2 also offers support for Huawei M-Pen 2s Stylus which comes with a 4096-level high-pressure sense and an 82mAh battery capable of continuously writing for 10 hours and offers a standby time of 40 days. It uses Bluetooth 5 for connectivity.
The device is powered by a 4600mAh battery capacity with support for 66W fast charging that Huawei claims can charge the battery to 0% to 90% in just 30 minutes.
For connectivity, the device include tri-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS/AGPS/GLONASS/ Beidou/ NavIC, USB Type-C, and headphone support via USB Type-C connector. The device also covers all the standard 2G, 3G, and 4G network bands.
For photography, the device utilise triple rear camera setup which houses a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, accompany by a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture, OIS and 3x optical zoom capability. The camera panel also houses a Laser Focus sensor. On the front, the device houses a 10.7-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture.
Huawei Mate Xs 2 is available at a price tag of €1,999 for the European market, and the device available in Black, White, and Violet colour options, and it will be available for sales in June, 2022.
