2022 Billboard Music Awards!

Just 16 months after Olivia Rodrigo shot to stardom with the smash single “Driver’s license,” the new-generation female singer who had previously won 13 nominations, became the biggest winner and finally won 7trophies, including female singer of the year and single of the year.

The 2022 Billboard Music Awards, #BBMAs which were held on Sunday(May 15) at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas saw Olivia Rodrigo, Kanye West and Doja Cat win big at the Billboard Music Awards 2022.

The #BBMAs 2022 was hosted by Diddy and featured performances by Megan Thee Stallion, Silk Sonic, Burna Boy, Florence+ The Machine, Ed Sheeran and Machine Gun Kelly. Morgan Wallen’s appearance was criticized as “tone deaf”, after it followed messages about social justice and anti-racism.

The Weeknd entered the night with the most nominations—a grand total of 17—followed by Doja Cat with 14 nods and Justin Beiber, Kanye West and Olivia Rodrigo with13 apiece. Kanye West was the most awarded male artist with 6 wins and BTS was the most awarded group with 3 wins.

In addition, Mary J.Blige received the Icon Award, and Mary Copeny was honored with the Changemaker Award.

Many winners were announced hours before the ceremony in a TikTok live stream.
