This new music friday cycle of the week ending 16th April has had some exciting releases that I'd like to highlight.
Shake it by Kay Flock, Cardi B, Dougie B and Bory300
The quartet formed by New York rappers Kay Flock, Cardi B, Dougie B and Bory300 join forces on their electrifying and raw drill record, “Shake It.”
The new song samples Sean Paul’s “Temperature” and Akon’s “Bananza (Belly Dancer) with the rappers energy on the drill beat makes it a thrilling listening experience.
It arrives with a visual that watches Cardi, Kay Flock, Dougie B, and Bory300 take over a Bronx street corner as they’re surrounded by their crew members who are either draped in red or blue.
Cardi steals the show with her killer verse full of witty bars like ‘she lyin(lyon), hakuna matata’ Her delivery on the song is commendable, exemplifying the New York Drill sound to perfection,
The song lists Kay Flock as the lead artist and it arrives almost five months after he was arrested for allegedly murdering a Harlem man after a dispute that occurred outside a barbershop
Pick Me Up EP by BAS
Dreamville’s Bas has released his EP titled Pick Me Up which features contributions from Galimatias, Gunna, J Cole, Lil Tjay and Ari Lennox.
Pick Me Up is a follow-up to his vibrant 2018 third album Milky Way.
The stand out record from the EP is undoubtedly “Admire Her” with Gunna. On it, the duo appreciate and adore their ideal partners for what makes them special. They do so over production that complements Bas’ versatile ways as it does to Gunna’s slimy persona.

Clap Trina & Latto
After speaking about Trina’s support in recent interview, Latto joins her on recent song titled ‘Clap’
This is the second time the ladies link up following up their 2020 collab on Latto’s ‘Bitch from Da Souf Remix’
Trina is considered a rap legend for her contributions in the genre that spans decades and Latto is enjoying her time in the spotlight as she collaborates with the likes of Mariah Carey on her hit single, "Big Energy (Remix)."

Street Signs Blueface Feat. G Herbo
Blueface and G Herbo have teamed up on the new single "Street Signs."
While Blueface hasn’t been able to match the success of his break out single Thotiana, he remains consistent in music releases with the latest being a song with G Herbo called "Street Signs."
This song has some skeletal production, all while Blueface changes up his flow. In this song, Blueface exchanges his bombastic energy for some more menacing and laid-back inflections.
Meanwhile, Herbo is as sharp as ever as he delivers clever bars that match the overall energy of the track.
Serial Killers Gucci Mane
Gucci is on a roll, releasing his third song this month titled Serial Killers which follows “Blood All On It,” featuring Key Glock and the late Young Dolph, and the March drop “Publicity Stunt’’
Angel by G-Eazy
G-Eazy returns with a tribute to her late mother on the song “Angel.”
G-Eazy gets vulnerable on he new song, showcasing his more emotional side against soft, slow sounds he speaks with patience and earnestness
“Can’t find what my faith is / I been lost in this basement / Keep searching and searching / I must be looking in the wrong places,” he contemplates.
But the song builds and grows hopeful; on the chorus, he sings, “‘Cause I met an angel, an angel.”
In an interview with People, he explained: “As I was recording the song, I kept feeling the presence of her energy dancing to the chorus.
Her favorite thing in the world was to come to my shows, and smoke her joints and dance to my music when I performed.”
