Moon Knight Trailer Shows Oscar Isaac Talking to His Character's Alter

Moon Knight Trailer Shows Oscar Isaac Talking to His Character's Alter
Moon Knight Trailer Shows Oscar Isaac Talking to His Character's Alter Marvel Studios has released the latest trailer for Moon Knight starring Oscar Isaac, teasing a suspenseful, action packed adventure throughout the newest Disney+ Marvel series. From producer Kevin Feige, Moon Knight introduces the titular character to the MCU, exploring the origins of this dark hero and his multiple identities. Isaac will be opposed by Ethan Hawke (Training Day) as the villain Arthur Harrow, and May Calamawy (Ramy) as Layla El-Faouly, a woman from Marc's past.

Humble gift shop employee, Steven Grant, begins to experience unusual memory lapses and blackouts, and fragments of his true identity begin to come back. Recalling his time as former U.S. Marine turned mercenary, Marc Spector, Steven is forced to reckon with his mental health condition, known as dissociative identity disorder. Isaac says Moon Knight will address mental health seriously, tackling DID head on and exploring the effect it can have on people. In Marvel's most recent trailer, Steven and Marc confront one another face to face, and the anointed hero Moon Knight begins using their body once again to achieve his goals.

Marvel's latest trailer for Moon Knight shows a heated conversation between Marc and Steven, warning Steven about the dangers of what he is going to learn about himself. Teasing the six-episode event with a glimpse at all three alters, the Moon Knight series appears to be full of action, mystery, and the realistic horror of what it is like to live with dissociative identity disorder. Isaac will also be joined Gaspard Ulliel as Midnight Man, one of the comic book enemies of Moon Knight, and F. Murray Abraham as the voice of the Egyptian god who grants Marc Spector his powers, Khonshu. The Umbrella Academy's Jeremy Slater leads the Moon Knight writing team, with directorial support from the duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who share a background in horror and sci-fi. Mohamen Diab is an additional voice directing the series, contributing his own knowledge and experience with Egyptian society to the Moon Knight world.

The latest trailers for Moon Knight have teased a darker, grittier aesthetic than other recent titles, embracing a more horrific tone and, hopefully, leaving behind Marvel's pattern of comedic undercutting. As they introduce DID and severe mental health conditions to the MCU, it would be a disservice to replicate former film styles like Thor: Ragnarok and its sarcastic tone. Since Moon Knight trailers have been serious so far, fans are growing excited for a new chapter in the MCU - one that contains more brutal, sinister stories. But as most of the story is unknown so far, Marvel could take the series in any direction, so audiences will have to wait to see if Phase 4 will keep walking a darker line or revert to old habits of throwing comedic relief in every chance possible.
