Animated movies are some of the best movies, introducing audiences to fantastical worlds and characters that only make sense in the world of animation. Unfortunately, movies only last so long, and oftentimes fans wish they could watch their favorite characters live out more adventures.

Luckily for some fans, creators understand that yearning for more stories and turn beloved animated movies into amazing animated cartoons. One of the big pioneers of this was the Walt Disney Company, who gave several of their classic animated movies shows of their own. It's a trend that has continued to prosper in recent years and even has gone on to include a handful of Star Wars animated shows.

In 2014, Disney took a Marvel comic and animated it in the highly underrated Disney animated movie, Big Hero 6. Since Big Hero 6 was based on a comic book series, there was still plenty of stories to tell, which is why the show got its own series in 2017.

The series picked up where the film left off, with Hiro, Baymax, and their friends vowing to protect the city from any scientifically enhanced villains. The series ran for three seasons on Disney Channel and earned a couple of Emmy Award nominations during its run.

Kung Fu Panda is one of DreamWorks' best animated movie franchises having spawned three movies, several shorts and video games, and even two different animated series. Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness is the first of the animated shows, which premiered in 2011 on Nickelodeon.

The series was set between the first and second Kung Fu Panda films and followed Po as he continued his training to become the powerful and almighty Dragon Warrior. The series ran for three seasons, but it, unfortunately, did not feature some of the original voice cast.

Hotel Transylvania made vampires and monsters family-friendly again when it hit theaters in 2012. The film was so successful it earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Animated Original Film, which helped launch its successful franchise.

In 2017, the franchise was turned into a television series for Disney Channel. Hotel Transylvania: The Series is a prequel to the first film and follows teenage Mavis and her monster friends as they get into trouble while her father, Dracula, is at Vampire Council. The series currently has two seasons and has yet to be either renewed or canceled for a third season, but fans are hoping for the best.

The series took place after the events of the film and its 2003 direct-to-video movie Stitch! The Movie. The show follows Lilo and Stitch as they track down Stitch's missing "cousins" and help them use their powers for good.

Caught in the middle of the change is Tylor, a newly graduated Scarer who finds his degree is obsolete. The series also features Mike and Sully, who have been appointed co-CEOs of the company.
