Steven Gerrard Sad for Rafa

Steven Gerrard was sad to see Rafa Benitez sacked by Everton last week — but admits he was surprised the Spaniard took the job in the first place.
The Toffees are searching for a new manager after axing Benitez just six months into the job.
And Gerrard, who takes Aston Villa to Goodison Park tomorrow lunchtime, has sympathy for the man he played under at Liverpool.
The Villans boss said: "I'm disappointed for Rafa because obviously I've got an awful lot of respect for him.
"I have to be honest, I thought it was a unique appointment at the time.
"I was surprised and shocked that Rafa wanted to go and have a go at that job. With his legacy and his relationship with Liverpool, that was a surprise.
"Obviously it hasn't worked out for whatever reason. You'd have to be inside the club to know why, which is none of my business."
