    Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah have returned to training in a timely boost for Chelsea. 

    The Blues have been without James since he suffered a hamstring injury in the 1-1 draw with Brighton last month. 

    Chalobah, 22, also aggravated a hamstring strain in the following game, a 2-2 stalemate with Liverpool, and went off with 20 minutes remaining. 

    Boss Thomas Tuchel has confirmed the defensive duo have taken the first steps to returning to action — but neither player will be available for Sunday's showdown with Tottenham. 

    Tuchel said: "We have a timeframe [on Reece’s return] but we will not make it public because we will just get asked about it.

    "He is back on the pitch, which is good news, but he is in individual training so far away from being a part of the squad for Sunday. 

    "Chalobah is back in team training but also way too early to play the game on Sunday at this kind of level."
