Adele is on track to have the best-selling Christmas album of all time.
Adele appears to have clinched this year's Christmas Number One album, with 30 on course to remain at the top of the Official Albums Chart for the fifth week in a row.
The Christmas Number 1 album has been a UK chart perennial since 1956, although being less well-known than its singles equivalent. Adele's third album 25, which debuted at number one in the UK in 2015, was her first Christmas chart-topper.
30 would tie Olivia Rodrigo's Sour for the longest-running Number 1 album of the year if it spent a sixth week at the top. Olivia's successful debut album spent five weeks at the top of the Official Albums Chart in a row.
This week, Michael Buble's Christmas climbs one rank to No. 4, reaching its greatest peak of the year so far, and Andre Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra's Happy Together is aiming for a new high of Number 5
Rod Stewart's Tears Of Hercules is expected to move three positions to Number 7, while Raise The Roof by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, which is now at Number 8, could re-enter the Top 10 on Friday. With greatest hits Between Us expected to soar to Number 10, Little Mix might return to the Top 10.
Aside from the Top 10, a number of Christmas albums are starting to reap the benefits of the holiday season. Gary Barlow's The Dream of Christmas is currently at Number 12, while Jamie Cullum's The Pianoman At Christmas might be this week's biggest riser, rising 17 places to Number 36, and Michael Ball and Alfie Boe's Together At Christmas, which is currently at Number 40, could re-enter the Top 40.
With Inside, Bo Burnham, an American musician, comedian, and filmmaker, is on course to re-enter the Official Albums Chart this week (The Songs). The compilation, which peaked at Number 5 earlier this year and spent seven weeks in the Top 10, is likely to re-enter at Number 16 following its vinyl release — the collection peaked at Number 5 earlier this year and spent seven weeks in the Top 10.
Roddy Ricch, an American rapper, may have the highest fresh new entry this week with his second album Live Life Fast, which might debut at Number 26. If it holds, it will be his second Top 40 collection in the UK.
Finally, two former Number 1s are still climbing this week: Sam Fender's Seventeen Going Under could jump four places to Number 17 after his continued Singles Chart success and triple BRIT nomination over the weekend, while Nirvana's iconic Nevermind could re-enter the Top 20, currently at Number 20.
