Barcelona continue to wallow in mediocrity after Xavi Hernandez's side added a 2-2 draw away to Osasuna to back-to-back defeats against Real Betis and Bayern Munich. This side have managed just 24 points from 16 games and have won just once away from home in LaLiga.

The starting XI at El Sadar was filled with players who have hardly featured this campaign as the squad struggles with injuries, with Samuel Umiti a prime example of this. The Frenchman didn't perform terribly, but did deflect Chimy Avila's late strike into the net to seal a draw for the home side. He just doesn't seem to have much luck, with this incident peak Umtiti.

Luuk de Jong was employed as the main attacking threat against Osasuna and contributed nothing to the cause. This was a missed opportunity for the Dutchman and will further convince Xavi that he needs to dip into the January market for attacking reinforcements.

This was Abde Ezzalzouli's sixth appearance for the first team and his third start in a row. He has taken full advantage of the minutes he's been given in the side and was one of the more impressive players in the team alongside fellow La Masia graduates Gavi and Nico. These youngsters are the main positive in Barcelona's season so far.

Ousmane Dembele is back in the side after a long period injured and is slowly finding his feet again in the team. It's understandable that he needs time to find his best levels again, but time isn't something Barcelona have at the moment - they need the Frenchman to be performing right now. He was quiet in the first half and improved in the second, playing a part in his side's second goal. Xavi will be praying that the muscle problem that forced him off isn't serious.

Seeing Philippe Coutinho, who the club paid 135 million euros for, sitting on the bench is a disaster for Barcelona. The worst thing about it is that it seems an almost impossible task for Barcelona to get the best out of the Brazilian again.

There was yet another controversial handball decision as Sergio Busquets handled in the area but referee Juan Martinez Munuera, who had a perfect view of the incident, decided it wasn't a penalty. The play then continued which led to Barcelona scoring their second goal of the night. It's difficult to understand exactly what constitutes a handball and what doesn't these days and it more often than not seems to be down to how the officials interpret the incident.
