Bars Only: 7 Rappers We Want Back From Sabbatical

Rap music is one genre of music that is really interesting and it blends perfectly with other genres and that’s an amazing thrill of rap.
Rap is an intellectual genre and its elements include the content, the flow, the rhythm and the delivery.
In Nigeria, we have had a number of intriguing rappers and on today’s edition of Bars Only we will be sharing with you 7 rappers we want back in the scene.
In no particular order,
Ikechukwu
Ikechukuw is a Nigerian rapper who broke into the scene in 2006 with his hit record “My name Is Ikechukwu '' which is the lead single of his first album, “Son of the Soil”. Ikechukwu has had a number of hits like"Critical", and "Now is the Time" just to name a few.
His studio albums include Son of the Soil (2006), Life and Times of Killz Vol. 1 (2008), The Alliance Reconstructed (2010), Hard (2019), and Soft (2019).
Ikechukwu is now a full-time actor and we miss his sizzling rap songs. Hopefully, he might just bless us with a joint in the near future.
Blaise
Obafunke Martin Luther popularly known as Blaise is a Nigerian femcee who thrilled fans with her unique style of rap. Blaise began her career as a member of one of Nigeria’s most famous groups Da Trybe notably known for their hit song, “Oya”.
Blaise began her solo career and she is known for songs like “The Definition” and “Bragging Rights.” She was also featured on the song Blaze by M.I which also features Jesse Jagz and Ice Prince.
Naeto C
Unarguably, during his run, Naeto C was one of Nigeria’s finest MCs. Naeto C began his career in 2006 with his regular collaborator Ikechukwu. The two were seen as the poster boys of rap music at that time.
Naeto C released a couple of successful albums which were co-produced by TY-Mix and VC Perez. His albums include 2008: U Know My "P", 2011: Super C Season, 2015: Day 1, and 2015: Festival.
Terry Tha Rapman
Terry Tha Rapman started rapper at the age of 15 and came into the limelight as a solo act in 2007 with the release of the album “Tha Rapman Begins”.
In 2010 he won The Headies Award for Best Rap Single with the song "Sample" (Remix) featuring Stereo Man and Pherowshuz.
Terry Tha Rapman is also known to have made an impact in the career of Blaqbonez. In 2012 he organized a rap competition called Terry Tha Rapman Zoombie competition and Blaqbonez was crowned the winner.
Mode 9
When it comes to Bars and Punchlines, Modo is king. He began his career in 1999 and released his debut studio album Malcolm IX in 2004. Modenine has eight studio albums and seems to be the most respected Nigerian rapper.
His albums include Malcolm IX -2004, Pentium IX - 2006, E' Pluribus Unum "One Amongst Many" -2007, The Paradigm Shift -2008, Da Vinci Mode -2010, Above Ground Level - 2014
Insulin - 2016 and The Monument (By Stormatique) - 2019. He also has a couple of mixtapes and joint projects.
Jesse Jagz
Jesse Jagz can be described as a lyrical machine. His finesse and delivery hits hard. The rapper/producer began his career officially in 2003 and signed a record deal with Chocolate City in 2010 and released his debut studio album Jag of All Tradez that same year.
It included the singles "Wetin Dey", "Pump It Up", "Jesse Swag", "Sugar Cane Baby" and "Bend Down Low" which topped local charts.
Jesse Jagz has released 4 studio albums, Jag of All Tradez (2010), Jagz Nation, Vol.1. Thy Nation Come (2013), Jagz Nation Vol. 2: Royal Niger Company (2014), Odysseus (2017) an EP, Garba in 2020, and a compilation album with Choc Boyz in 2015.
Jesse Jagz primarily makes hip-hop and reggae which makes him stand out amongst his peers.
Sasha P
Sasha P has been often described as the First Lady of Nigerian hip-hop. Sasha P bagged a number of collaborations of being signed on to eLDee’s Imprint, Trybe Record.
Her single, “Adara” shot her to mainstream prominence.
She also performed at the 20th anniversary of the World Music Awards in October 2008, making her the 1st Nigerian female artist to do so.
Sasha is the first Nigerian female artiste to win the Best Female Award at MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA).
Sasha took a break in 2013 to focus on her fashion industry.

They still in. just that Nigerian rap fans have been sold a lie by these new generation skinny jeans rapper turn singers because of the new of afro pop genre by the likes of Davido and wizkid influence. I think y'all ain't ready for the revolution. But it must surely happen
