Any athlete would dream of competing at the coveted Olympic Games.
For Julius Ssekitoleko, it was a different story. After failing to show up for his daily COVID-19 test, which is a requirement of taking part at this summer's Olympic Games, he was nowhere to be seen.
Several hours later, one of the officials found a written letter in his room in which Ssekitoleko stated that he had no intention of returning to Uganda because life there is 'particularly difficult'.
The athlete left the hotel he was in without warning and bought a train ticket to Nagoya, some 200 kilometres away, early on Friday. He was found by the police yesterday.
