Top 10 Movies To Watch Out For In 2021 Summer

2020 has been a weird one for movies. Theaters were closed. Even when they started to reopen, attendance was low. But as things return to normal and audiences slowly make their way back to cinemas, a lot of the movies that were postponed from last year are making their delayed debuts. Now, all those release and productions delays have resulted in a 2021 loaded up with movies we can’t wait to finally see. Here are the 10 films we’re most looking forward to seeing this summer.
1. F9 (Fast and Furious 9)


Packed with amazing stunts and jaw-dropping action sequences, F9 is pure summer blockbuster material. Steered by returning franchise filmmaker Justin Lin, the ninth installment in the Fast & Furious series raises the stakes to new heights. Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, and Jordana Brewster are all back as their previous characters, with John Cena joining the ensemble as Jakob, the brother of Diesel’s Dominic Toretto. F9 was ready to be released in April 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic caused the movie to be pushed back several times. Finally, F9 will arrive in theaters in late June. 
2. Black Widow.



After years of patiently waiting, Natasha Romanoff also known as Black Widow finally gets her chance in the limelight. Black Widow, characterized by Scarlett Johansson, has been a consistent presence in the MCU(Marvel Cinematic Universe) since her debut in 2010’s Iron Man 2.Originally supposed to premiere in 2020, Black Widow was removed from Disney’s release calendar following the Covid-19 pandemic. Rather than send the movie directly to Disney+, Disney decided to postpone the movie a full year so fans could view it in the cinema. Now that movie theaters are open again, Marvel fans can finally see Johansson along with Florence Pugh and Rachel Weisz on the big screen this July. 
3. Candyman.



Fast-rising director Nia DaCosta’s sophomore film Candyman is a direct succession to the 1992 film of the same name. With a script from DaCosta, Jordan Peele, and Win Rosenfeld, Candyman offers a fresh twist on its source material. Peele has made a name for himself in the psychological horror genre with Get Out and Us, and Candyman has a similar smart style and urgency. The film features Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman, The Trial of the Chicago 7) as Anthony McKoy, a visual artist who lived as an infant in the defunct Cabrini Green Housing Projects — the Candyman’s favorite haunting grounds according to legend. Universal Pictures intended to release this movie in June 2020, then pushed it to September 2020 due to the pandemic, then delayed it again to October 2020. Candyman will finally be released this August.
4. The Tomorrow War.



Chris McKay, Known for working on The Lego Movie and directing its sequel The Lego Batman Movie, is making his first incursion into live-action films in The Tomorrow War. The science-fiction blockbuster depicts future humanity in its battle against an alien invasion, as they use new technology to bring back soldiers from the past to fight in 2051(wow!). Chris Pratt features as Dan Forrester, a former Delta Force operator who travels to the future and save the world for his daughter’s sake. Other characters include Yvonne Strahovski, Betty Gilpin, and a ripped J.K. Simmons. The Tomorrow War was first planned to be released on Christmas Day in 2020, but will now premiere on Amazon Prime in early July.
5. Space Jam: A New Legacy.



This stand-alone continuation of Space Jam is bound to be a blast of memories for ’90s kids and adults alike. Following the events of the 1996 movie, Space Jam: A New Legacy substitutes Michael Jordan for LeBron James.However, the Looney Tunes casts will remain the same — Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety, and Tasmanian Devil will all be making appearances.Animations were headily used jn theeee production of thus movie.
6. Zola.

In October of 2015, stripper and waitress Aziah “Zola” Wells posted an 148-tweet epic online, describing a harrowing road trip to Florida with a fellow stripper named Jessica. The story quickly gained attention on the web, garnering interest from production companies who wanted to seize the rights to Zola’s absolutely insane first-hand account. Initially, James Franco was scheduled to direct the picture, but the project was put off after sexual assault allegations against the actor and director.With Taylour Paige in the title role, Riley Keough plays Jessica, with Succession’s Nicholas Braun as her conflicted boyfriend. 
7. Respect.



The movie stars Jennifer Hudson as Aretha Franklin, who from her humble beginnings singing in her father’s church choir to her rise as the Queen of Soul. With a dynamite cast featuring Mary J. Blige, Forest Whitaker, Audra MacDonald, Marc Maron, and Tituss Burgess, Respect is set up to be a powerful look at the singer’s life. 
8. The Green Knight.



Director David Lowery is known for taking big stylistic swings, whether it be the intimate (A Ghost Story) or the fantastical (Pete’s Dragon). That’s why his next effort, The Green Knight, is bound to impress.The movie stars Dev Patel as Sir Gaiwan and Alicia Vikander as Lady/Esel. 
9. Jungle Cruise.



Talks of a movie based on the popular Disneyland attraction have been happening since 2004. In 2011, Toy Story stars Tim Allen and Tom Hanks were set to star in the project. Four years after that idea was scrapped, Disney announced their plans to redevelop the movie, this time starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Over the next few years, the cast was rounded out by Emily Blunt, Jack Whitehall, and Paul Giamatti. Early reviews state that Jungle Cruise is reminiscent of Pirates of the Carribean, another franchise based off a theme park ride. If Jungle Cruise is successful upon its late-July release, we might be seeing more attraction-based movies in the future — maybe based on Big Thunder Mountain or the Matterhorn.
10. The Suicide Squad.



 This, in many ways is also a remake to David Ayer’s universally panned Suicide Squad . According to star John Cena, it’s also neither of these things. The James Gunn-directed superhero flick will take another look at the characters from the 2016 film, including Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman). We’ll also get to witness the cinematic debuts of Bloodsport (Idris Elba), and Peacemaker (Cena). Interestingly enough, Ayer was originally slated to direct the sequel, but left the project in favor of a Gotham City Sirens film.Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is an R-rated affair, and will reportedly push that R-rating to its limit.
