Kenya

Chris Kaiga and Mutoriah have a new song released just three days ago titled ’I want’. It follows a popular kindergarten tune in Kenya that has the famous catchphrase ‘I want I want... This girl to come and dance with me’.
Their fans seems to be enjoying the song as it gives them the chance to reminisce their childhood within modern music with today’s beats.
The ‘I Want’ visuals are very aesthetically pleasing and follow a seventies feel with the actors and dancers wearing long dresses, gloves, hats and tuxedos.
Chris Kaiga has slowly built a name for himself in the Kenyan music industry. With hits such as ‘Zimenice’ and ‘Chain Chain’, Kenyans cannot help but want more of his sound.
His journey started 10 years ago. He shared, “I started music in 2011. That was the first time I ever recorded thanks to Ashi Akatsa, my Sound Engineer. At the time, we were in the music group SLAP (Sounds Like A Plan). I later joined Usual Suspekts with Odizzy, where we released our first mixtape (Bourne Suspekts) with Tezzla (the Zimenice feature).”
He then went on to do his own thing. “In 2O16, I set up my own studio (Up n Up Creatives) and founded yet another group, KHM (Kwenye Hii Masaa) with Nelly The Goon and Stevie Don Dada before breaking out and venturing out as a solo act in 2018,” he says.
Have you listened to the ‘I Want’ track yet? What do you think? Is it a hit or a miss?
