Beyoncé made an effortlessly radiant virtual appearance at the Billboard Women in Music event yesterday to present the Rising Star Award to her protégés, Chloe and Halle Bailey. "Ladies, I am so, so proud of you," she told the musical duo in a prerecorded clip.
"You've done this with authenticity, with grace, with raw talent, and you manage to shine in every room you enter. And I'll always love you," she added. "Please give it up for my girls, Chloe and Halle."

In a video appearance that lasted for less than 20 seconds, Bey showed us how dressing for casual, virtual gigs is done. She sported a high, curly ponytail; a glowing, fresh makeup look; geometric oversized earrings; and a simple sweatshirt. (We're taking note for future Zoom meetings.)
Recipients Chloe, 22, and Halle, 20, went for full glam in coordinating black mesh ensembles. They called their win a "pinch-me moment" as they thanked their families and, of course, Beyoncé.
"When it comes to her, we are filled with nothing but extreme gratitude," Chloe said.
"She saw something in us both, two young Black girls with short little locs, passionately singing their hearts out at home for the world to see," Halle added, alluding to the viral YouTube videos in which she and her sister would cover Bey's own songs, catapulting them to stardom.
"So we just to want to say, thank you, Beyoncé, for being you, and for believing in the power of lifting up the young," Halle continued. "We love you."
