Omah Lay and Tems Hold Impressive Concert in Uganda, But Ugandan Artists Are Pissed, Here's Why

After enduring close to nine months of no performances at all because of Covid-19 restrictions, Ugandan party goers had a blast last night with Nigerian singers Tems and Omah Lay at the Speke Resort Munyonyo.
However Ugandan musicians were dismayed by the concert.
Some musicians like Bebe Cool, had earlier tried to block it, but later stood down, for unknown reasons.
The concert took place last Saturday night (12th Dec), and attracted hundreds of Ugandan party-goers who did not care who was performing and from which country, especially considering how hungry they were for a fun-filled music concert. Curfew or any other restrictions seemed to have been forgotten.
Upon the successful performance by Omah Lay and Tems, a string of Ugandan entertainers have decided to express their dissatisfaction upon unfair treatment from government and police for allowing a foreigner to stage a concert, despite them abiding by the set guidelines for such a long time.
In fact, musicians like Gravity Omutujju have gone ahead to issue their intention to sue government and President Museveni for letting this happen.
In a lengthy Facebook post, he stated ".....I am gonna sue Uganda govt about this act because if it allowed this to happen when we the owners of the country are starving. President M7 ne bano you gonna face me in the courts of law....."
Other musicians and entertainers who expressed their concerns were Ykee Benda, Mun G, Cindy, Crysto Panda, King Saha, Geosteady, Mc Kats, Douglas Lwanga, among others.
Some Tweeps slammed those complaining about the concert, claiming that the musicians and entertainers kept quiet when the government restrictions were squeezing and dragging Bobi Wine, whose concert was blocked earlier this year, yet it is the same government that has allowed the concert to go ahead.
On the brighter side, Tems may have fallen in love with the pearl of Africa, as she Tweeted a cryptic message on her page before the performance saying "Got a ring on my finger tonight, but i don't know who put it there"
At this point, I hope Ugandan Entertainent is re-opened for all to blast again, its about time.
