Angella Katatumba recounts heartbreak by Daddy Andre split with latest release "Emotional"

She is one of the most vocally gifted artists in Uganda. Recently Angella Katatumba had to watch her ex-boyfriend of not so long ago, get serious with a fellow artist Nina Roz. "Emotional" is her response to this news.

Part of the song goes "I’m so emotional, ninga alina ebanja. Ontute so optional, netaga’yo esala" which translates "I'm so emotional, it's like you owe me, you have made me optional, i need prayers"

The songbird goes on to narrate how her precious heart was shattered and declares a plot of defiance.


Angella's ex-boyfriend Daddy Andre held a traditional kukyala ceremony and visited his fiancée Nina Roz’s parents.

Katatumba, on a talk show on a local TV show revealed that she feels sad and emotional because she still has memories about her relationship with Daddy Andre.


The former love birds separated when Angella asked Andre for his HIV test results and he failed to produce them.

She denied ever wanting him back saying “It doesn’t change the fact that when I think about Andre, I become emotional. It’s the truth and those are facts. By being emotional, I don’t mean I want him back. I moved on and he also moved on,” she said.

The song was produced by the young, talented Steyn and is making rounds on Ugandan airwaves not only because it is a great listen, but also a true story packaged in a song.
