The Police in Palghar have booked a medical practitioner from Vasai for allegedly selling fake medicines by claiming that they served as an antidote for the Coronavirus infection.
An Official from the Palghar district police said that 32-year-old Dr Ramkarit Nandlal Yadav has been booked under the Essential Commodities Act for spreading rumours at a time when the State is reeling under the scare of the pandemic. The act has been invoked under the special powers conferred to the district collector.
According to the police, Yadav, who runs a clinic at the Gavroipada area of Vasai, adjacent to the Crematorium, had put up a bord outside the clinic stating that the antidote the Coronavirus infection was available for Rs 100 (US$1.32 or 23.33 Rands) per drop of oral medicine. As per announcement, one needs to take three drop for preventive measures.
