Bollywood Films Rejected By Kareena Kapoor Khan

1. Goliyon Ki Rasleela – Ram Leela


Sanjay Leela bhansali wanted to work with Kareena and he offered her the role of Leela in the movie Ram Leela. Kareena turned down the film as she felt the script wasn't good enough and she didn't want to work with Ranveer Singh. Later, the movie was a smash hit and Kareena regretted missing a great opportunity.

2. Chennai Express


Rohit Shetty offered Kareena the lead role in Chennai Express alongside Shahrukh Khan. But Kareena turned the film down as she had issues with the date and she didn't feel the character was strong enough. Since the film was a blockbuster at the box office, Kareena regretted her rejection of the film.

3. Kal Ho Na Ho


Karan Johar initially offered Kareena the role of Naina in the film Kal Ho Na Ho. But she turned down the role because she wasn't happy with the money she received. She also didn't believe in Nikhil Advani directing and wanted Karan to direct the film.

4. Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai


For her debut film, Kareena said yes to this Rakesh Roshan film and even started directing for it. But after filming for a few days, she decided to leave the film as she thought the film would focus more on Hrithik's character. Later she regretted turning down the film as it turned out to be a hit.

Madhur Bhandarkar was keen to work with Kareena Kapoor so he offered her the lead role in his film Fashion. But Kareena turned the film down, saying the script wasn't good enough. Later, Kareena's rival Priyanka landed the role and she was praised for her role in the film.

This iconic film was first offered to Bebo, but she felt the character wasn't strong enough and she didn't think he was great enough. So Kareena turned down the role and she still regrets not doing the film as it turned out to be a great film.

7. Dil Dhadakne Thu


Zoya Akhtar offered Kareena the film Dil Dhadakne Do. She offered her the role, which was later played by Priyanka Chopra. Zoya considered casting Ranbir and Kareena as brother and sister in the film but Kareena turned down the role. Kareena later said that it was her loss and that she would definitely work with Zoya Akhtar in the future.

8. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam


Sanjay Leela Bhansali also offered Kareena the lead role in his film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Kareena also turned down the director's offer, saying the character wasn't strong enough. Later the film was a huge hit at the box office and Bebo still regrets turning it down.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali offered the iconic role of a visually and hearing impaired girl to Kareena. But Kareena turned down the role as she felt the script wasn't good enough. Black later managed to win two National Awards and it was considered one of the greatest films of that year.
