Phyl The Kangogo is a young talented gentleman based in Nairobi. A prolific singer, songwriter, guitarist, performing and recording artist and a major in Afro- urban music.
Phyl The Kangogo is a member of an amazing boy band made up of five amazing musicians called Likizo He is currently working on his solo projects. Phyl the Kangogo graduated from Kenyatta University where he pursued a Bachelor degree in Music from the year 2015 to the year of its completion in July 2019.
He was born and raised in Rift Valley and studied in Sacho High school where he shaped his music career pursuing music as a subject, singing tenor in the school choir and also in a school based band named ARCS. His music is a combination of different genres but mainly urbanized and built on mood and real life situations. He borrows a lot from native African music and classical music especially on his rich melodies, flow and tune. This gives his music a richly Urban African vibe, a natural and very rhythmic flow.
