Progress Nkwachukwu Chukwuyem is a Nigerian contemporary artist, who rose to stardom after winning the Nigerian Idol Season 7 Reality TV show. Progress was born on the 29th of December, 2000 into a musical family of 7 but lost his mum in 2020. Being born into a Christian home, progress found his passion for music from family and church, hence why he joined the choir at a very young age. Progress is from Ika South Delta State, but was born and raised in the city of Warri. In 2015, Progress emerged the winner of a gospel competition in his town Warri titled “Gospel Rocks On Stage” also in 2016 he emerged the winner of another gospel competition in Warri called “Take The Stage Nigeria” with all these, he chose to challenge himself on a bigger stage and auditioned to be a part of the Nigerian Idol Season 7 show where he also emerged the winner. One month after his win, Progress releases his debut single “Lift Me Up” produced by the talented Drey Beatz. Asides from music, Progress is also a Fashion designer and has a passion for Acting and Modelling. He also volunteers to teach music to less privileged children in an underdeveloped community in Warri, Nigeria.
