Godson Ominibie Teddy Epelle who is professionally known as 1da Banton is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and music producer. 1da Banton songs, like No Wahala, become very popular and trendy online with a great number of streaming and downloads on Boomplay.

He was born on the 24th of July, 1994 in Port Harcourt and hails from Rivers State. He spent his formative years in Port Harcourt and later relocated to Lagos State when he secured a record label deal with Squareball Entertainment which is owned by Nigerian video director, Adasa Cookey.

Career
1da Banton’s musical career started when he was in secondary school in Port Harcourt. He used to visit the studio then and watched people record and when the studio is free, he makes records of his own. Football was his second career choice. He was studying Civil Engineering but dropped out to pursue his music career.

His career picked off when he sent his demo to one of Nigeria’s biggest video directors, Adasa Cookey. He listened to the demo and loved it and signed him to his record label ‘Squareball Entertainment’.

Growing up, he listened to the likes of 50 Cent, 2baba, D’banj, Mohits, M.I. Abaga and these people inspired him to make music. On the 14th of July, 2017 he released his debut EP “The Banton EP” under Squareball Entertainment.
