Born in Tema but raised in Accra, Ghana, Mēl was inspired to learn about production by Dj Kwamzy. Further inspiration came through Øbed (SuperJazzClub), Rvdical the Kid among others who like to explore sound outside mainstream genres. Mēl is also driven and fascinated by the intricate timings and polyrhythms of highlife music.
Starting out as a guitarist, the budding producer is a fan of ambient music as well as RnB, alternative, afro soul, and hip-hop music genres. A member of the 99PHACES collective, the producer and composer debuted with 233 Shokoto by CozyPols. Mēl has gone on to contribute to projects such as SO WE MADE A TAPE by 99PHACES, and Baaba J and Moliy's Spotify Created by Women song, coproducing alongside Yimeeka.
