Laika Kenya is a self taught artist who was born into a musical family. Born of a Kenyan father and Tanzanian mother, her life as a child involved a lot of movement from one country to the other. The exposure to different cultures fuelled her love for languages and music.
Laika started singing in primary school and participated in many competitions. She was always the soloist when the school choir performed on public holidays. This love for music was finally noticed on a bigger scale when she first recorded her debut single "Laika's Song' ft. Freeman back in 2014 which was an instant hit.
Laika Kenya has a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Public Relations, and has always used the skills learned to advance her music career. She now writes and produces her own music.
