Focus: Nyashinski
Nyashinski was one third of the Kenyan rap group Kleptomaniax. From their first release, “Freak It” in 2002 to their biggest hit “Swing”, and eventually all in 1 album “m4E” that was released in 2005, Kleptomaniax won numerous nominations, accolades and awards, becoming the first ever Kenyans to be nominated for an MTV award, toured all of Kenya, the US, the UK, Dubai, Australia. In 2006, Nyashinski left to join his family in the US.In 2015, music called him back home and he released a single and vide “Letigo” together with Nameless, garnering critical acclaim and leaving fans asking if he was coming back. Positive feedback and follow-up questions from fans,old and new alike led him to release, in May 2016, his first official solo song and video “Now You Know”, which, 6 months later, became the first ever video by a Kenyan rap artiste to hit 1 million views on YouTube.
