Hands Up is a four piece band that plays melodic, catchy punk-rock singalongs set to the words of an eight year old girl. Based on the South East Coast of the UK, Hands Up cover an eclectic range of themes; from the joys of marble-and-pencil-football, to dancing in a loft when a certain age hits, to the disappointment of having to work for wages that are inevitably poorly spent.
Ben (vocals), documents the everyday life of his daughter Mabel, throughout his lyrics, and quotes her musings to sing-along choruses. Set to a punk-rock backdrop of energetic drums, punching bass and crunching guitars; the music juxtaposes with the innocent, youthful lyrics.
