Many of Gaston bandimic songs become very popular and trendy online with a great number of streaming and downloads on Boomplay.

Career
Gaston bandimic discovered music very early on through his father, who was a founding member and singer of the group Rio Orchestra de Fass during his lifetime, as well as his uncle, a percussionist from the same group.

Among his father's friends, regulars at the house, was also a certain Idrissa Diop, now known for excelling on the European World scene but also thanks to his collaborations with Carlos Santana. It is therefore quite naturally that music entered his life. In 1992, at the age of 15, he left Senegal to settle with his mother in France where he had his first encounters with rap through IAM de Marseille.

He is then interested in it, but nothing more. It took his return to Senegal two years later and the release of the first rap albums like those of Positive Black Soul, Daara J or Pee Froiss for him to get started by creating the group Sen Kumpeu with Bourba Djoloff who also had just started. Established in the heart of the Medina which was the first popular district in the colonial era, Sen Kumpeu with Rapadio (who was from the same district) very early distinguished himself in the rap of the time, mainly because of a label hardcore with well-constructed texts and a strong impregnation of social realities and the difficulties of Senegalese youth faced with a socialist regime with which they were far from satisfied.

This is how in 1999 they already participated in the D-Kill Rap compilation initiated by Fitna Produktions with the title Nirékeula (It happens like that) which ends up installing them definitively in the Senegalese rap landscape.

In 2000, same label, another compilation, Sen Kumpeu returns with Lu Deuk bi Laac (What the People Ask) in Politichien (to suggest politician). This compilation purely focused on politics in Senegal and which came out just after the elections caused a lot of ink and saliva to flow and is still cited as a benchmark for the commitment shown by the country's rappers.

In 2001 they were winners of the Hip_Hop Awards in the "Revelation" category. Unfortunately for all those who were waiting for the group's album, the separation took place in 2003.

It was finally that same year that Gaston released his first solo album entitled Khél Komla (Intelligence is wealth). Composed of eight titles, it is an album which surprised by its anchoring and its perspicacity to dissect the Senegalese reality with themes as diverse as the errors of the judicial system, the condition of women, the idleness of youth or even the relations between men and women distorted by the frantic quest for money and sex.

This album was considered one of the first to "speak" to Senegalese not only in terms of themes but also the language and expressions used to describe a common daily experience. He was nominated for this year's Hip-Hop Awards.

In 2004 Gaston found Nix and Keyti with whom he had been in competition for the best solo album of 2003, as well as a singer, Ass Malick, to work on an international album titled Dakar All Stars. The release of this work was a success and ended up reassuring about Gaston's talent and his ability to paint slices of life and to render emotions that give his music all its realism and human dimension.
