Okechukwu Edwards Ukeje, better known by his stage name Nigga Raw (Mr. Raw), is a rapper from Abia State Southeastern Nigeria. He is a pioneer of Igbo rap, a genre that now appeals to a broad, mainstream audience. He was born on 1st November 1975, making him 45 years as of the time of this post. Born and raised in Enugu, He completed his primary and secondary education in Enugu and obtains his first school leaving certificate and West African Senior School Certificate respectively.

After completing his primary and secondary school education he proceeded to Institute of management and Technology in Enugu State, where he graduated with Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration Management.

Career.
His musical career kick start while he was in higher institution, but he kick start full time after his graduation, he gained prominence during the early 2000s rapping in the Igbo language and Pidgin English.

Raw’s debut studio album, Right & Wrong, was released on 7 August 2005. A second album Everything Remains Raw followed in 2007. His third studio album End of Discussion was released in October 2010.

Achievement.
The album yielded the hit song “O! Chukwu” whose music video won Best Afro Hip Hop Video at the NMVA Awards that year.

I just have to get something else to do other than music. Though at first it was only music but now it’s no longer music alone, I am now doing other things as well. I actually got myself involved in many other businesses within and outside the country.

I am still very much around, doing my thing but the only difference now is that I don’t do just music alone anymore. I have other interests, I am into importation of goods within and outside Nigeria and I am also into properties like an investor. Let’s just say it’s a kind of retirement plan that could come handy when I finally bow out from music. It’s my back-up plan”
