CHERRIE LAUREL is an electronic avant-pop project founded by producer, performer and composer Brittney Rand. Utilizing her formal training in Digital Music Production for Film & Gaming, Rand became the founding member of electronic duo Mu in 2013. In 2016, Mu went on to release their second album ‘II’ via Boompa Records, which gained traction online and in DJ communities, garnering international press. After touring, performing and producing music for several years in Mu, Rand founded her solo electronic outfit CHERRIE LAUREL, independently releasing ‘A Furnace, A Fire’ in 2018. In 2020, CHERRIE LAUREL released ‘The Silence Files Vol. I’, an ongoing mixtape series of contemporary meditation and ambient music for a “contemporary quarantined species”. Rand continues to compose and release music from her home studio in Vancouver, Canada....more
