P-Tah is a Kenyan-born and London-based rapper with a keen ear for beats, ingenious wordplay, and a flair for painting rich imagery with words to create honest and relatable music.
Born and raised in Nairobi, he grew up listening to Genge, Reggae, Dancehall,
and Lingala. While these genres introduced him to music, he would organically
fall in love with hip-hop.
His music career kicked off in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic as a
way of expressing his emotions and sharing his experiences. He also wanted to
offer an alternative to the mainstream music scene, which he felt was lacking in
depth and diversity.
Due to his earlier exposure to Kenyan music, he raps mainly in Kiswahili and Sheng, to connect with his audience and celebrate his culture.
