Sir Dauda

Sir Dauda is a singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and performer. He was born Oluwatobiloba Dawodu in July 1988 in the city of Lagos, to parents of mixed Nigerian heritage. He always had an affinity for the arts and often contributed on and off stage at school and church events in his early teens. Whilst in the university, he continued to develop and tap deeper into his creative gifts, picking up an instrument and establishing two bands during this period. He graduated with a law degree and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2014.

Sir Dauda officially launched his music career with the release of his debut single "Sisi Oloja", which was a fan favorite in 2012, since then he released 3 other singles in 2016 and 2017 titled Je ko Work, Streets is Gold, and the critically acclaimed Kalakuta. In 2018, he got signed to Bahd Guys Records and released his first single under the label, Landlord in the same year. His debut 5-track EP, Love Ex Machina dropped September 2020. The five-song E.P. finds him working with a slew of mavin musical acts in Nigeria. The production of the project is handled by A-List hitmakers such as Willis, Chillz, Sizzle PRO, and Focus Ramon. Chart-topping singer of “Duduke”, Simi, and breakthrough musical act, GoodGirl LA, are also featured on the songs ``Woman” and “Logba Logba” respectively.

He has collaborated in works such as, “How far?”, “Boogie” and “Confirm” with Falz, “War Coming” with Eva Alordiah, “Funmi Lowo” with Aramide, and other works with artists such as Show Dem Camp, Ladipoe, and Chillz amongst others. He also co-wrote the hit single “Hallelujah” by Funbi.

Sir Dauda plays a style of music, which is a blend of his distinct husky-honey vocals and melodies, poetry, folklore, and rap lyricism fused with sounds and rhythms from Africa and across various genres; a style aptly Jungle Funk.
