Indianapolis bassist, by way of Washington, DC, Mike Garrett formed the recording team, Temple Hills, in the mission to bring a new sound to Contemporary Christian Music. Washington, DC, where funk music and the homegrown Go-Go sound showered, “the Chocolate City" with head bobbing, percussion based grooves, set the foundation for the soon to be released album, FUNK & Jesus!
The debut single, Life! references the power and the promise from God of life everlasting, through the belief in the resurrection of His son, Jesus Christ. Lead vocalist, Cutti, along with a traditional funk based track, sings a somewhat Hippy refrain of, "Life everlasting, sounds fantastic!", saturates the second half of the song and sets a tone for the album that elevates, with each single that follows.
